hydochloric acid vs sodium thiosulphate

im doing cousework about this. each time we do the experiment we will replace 5ml of thiosulphate with 5ml until there is 30ml of water to 10ml of sodium thio to see wat happens to the reaction. i have got a prediction. i know that the reaction will take longer but i need a good HYPOTHESIS to use that talks about the particles and why the reaction slows down in a scientific way. could anyone HELP ME !!!!

In a nutshell, the rate of reaction depends on the number of collisions (between the reacting species) per unit time that have the required energy to cause a reaction that leads to the products. As the concentrations of the reacting species decrease, so the frequency of these collisions decreases also, hence the reduce rate of reaction.
