There were obviously people going to die due to Omicron, it is Covid and a lot of people have died as a result of covid.
The medics are more concerned about the other thing that Boris said yesterday - that the majority of Covid in London is of the new variant.
Infections are doubling every 48 hours. While we do not know for certain what Omicron can and can’t do, the fact that it appears highly transmissible is cause for apprehension.

I regard this as the dative-ablative problem - to or for, by with of FROM ? ( thanks to First steps in Latin) - they are saying WITH, and we wanna know if it is FROM and by Golly we are gonna scream until someone says....

Now my own view is ( following the great Andie's pensee ) that if omicron is a marker only and killing diddly squat
then it would have marked by now....
in proportion to its prevalence (= how much it is there )
that is if it is present in 1% - then 1% of the deaths should show this marker. They dont

I therefore suggest when it is present it has something to do with the death.
