Unreasonable Freeholder Charges
Hello. I own a leasehold flat. The freeholder is trying to charge me for each communication he has with me - currently 7 letters / emails at an extortionate rate of £60 per letter / email. I have refused to pay this. My problem is that when I come to sell the property he will most likely refuse to allow the sale until this fee is paid - is there a cap on what he can charge and how would I go about challenging these ridiculous fees and getting them reduced to a more reasonable level. Thanks in advance

You can apply to the tribunal for a variation of your charges but this could be very expensive for you
