Covid Figures
Yes another one! Does anyone ever really bother to read all through the posts quoting facts and figures? I doubt many do so why do people keep putting them on - is it a 'fifteen minutes of fame' syndrome?

Cannot work out why so many question the likes of Professor Whitty and other experts in their field with their vast knowledge and expertise that has been honed over many years of research since finishing medical school
Or do you not like empirical evidence and statistics from reliable and unbiased sources ?

Lankeela.....no big deal...it's a sport and not new either as folks have been interpreting and arguing over Statistics for at least almost a century.
Do I read them?......yes, some of them yes.
Do I understand them ? ......no not all of them.
Are they important in this pandemic?........yes if you are searching for a broad picture.
But for me, I really on commonsense and what I consider tobe anecdotal communication.
Are the looking for their moment of fame? Yes, but they have probably been doing that all their lives....I suppose I have..haventyou?

Yes - no !
You have ill people and well people - and if the number goes up it is probably bad - - -
and if it goes down ( erm yeah) then it is good
and the rest is social work ( thanks to Heisenberg I think).
There is a lot of - "they reported X and they should have reported Y" - but it is pretty obvious even with Y, someone is not gonna be "converted"
There is a lot of stuff that is just wrong - - a sample does not give an accurate picture of the population ( yes it does if it is big enough)
Thousands have died from vaccination ( no they havent)
Flu = covid - - nope
I cant add but I insist on giving you my opinion on the maff involved
- oh great, cant wait
bbut I think it was inevitable - the great thinkers on this are still in their labs and / or stuck to the computers

oh and ( speccie apparently) - computer predictions are programmed to be awful
Not something I was prey to - computer predictions of the stock market are meant to be accurate and not return "sell- you will lose all your money" at every run.
Same thing happened in BSE - they went thro a LOT of experts until they got one whose views tended to be borne out by later events. He was most definitely NOT the first ( one consulted)
