What Is Up With People....

I get Xmas week off work but go in midweek...just for the morning... to collect from our supermarket collection points, to take the strain off the following new year week.
Had a guy come up to me (and my van mate) why we were collecting today...
"Foodbank are you?"
"Err yes, we are."
(A long wheel based van parked outside with Foodbank written on it in large letters, and our attire + badges all with Foodbank written on it might have been a clue)
And then rips in to a diatribe about how the unemployed are all scroungers and deserve to die of starvartion etc....
All are just lazy scum etc.

Had a feeling he wasnt full of the Xmas spirit

What is up with people nowadays?
Everyone seems so angry....

Maybe he asked for help once and was turned away, or someone close to him did and came to harm as a result. Or he could just be an @r5e

A person needs a referral to go to a foodbank.
Not all people who need a referral are unemployed.
You get a 3 day supply.
It's a hand-up not a hand-out.

I'd have loved to educate that gentleman, Nails, I really would have.....

gulliver the poverty now as allways been around us but we're more aware of it - at ant time in the last century people allso went hungry or without new clothes or proper houses and there are more ways to help like foodbanks rather than 'the mission' or charitys or reliance on famlies. Theres allso more broken famlies now and single parents. Shame people like Nailit and foodbanks werent around then

Chance what your/our political affilliations are, we all deserve a hearing.

My OP Was not about foodbanks, it was about peoples nastiness,
just using my own experience (working for a foodbank) to ask a question.
