I still haven't read my Christmas book - A Thousand Splendid Suns - but am now searching for an audio book or large print version for a friend with failing eyesight.
Thank you for suggesting it.

Since being asked to recommend a book to a book club - they hated my choice - I'm always reluctant to make recommendations because tastes differ so much, but for me this book really was 'splendid'.
Will you let me know what you think please? I really would be interested to know.

I think I'll try that book. I prefer non-fiction.
A Thousand Splendid Suns is an excellent read, although I couldn't get an English copy in Carrefour at the time so I read the Spanish version, Mil Soles Esplendidos. I agree it's better than The Kite Runner, which is also very good.
I can't even remember all the books I've got in boxes in the attic but I do look forward to unpacking them all and reading the ones I haven't yet got around to.
