the Olympics haven't been the same since they dropped cricket after 1900. There was only one match in Paris 1900, between Britain (actually a touring Devon team) and France (mostly English expats in Paris).

Britain won, naturellement. They took silver and the French took bronze, as gold medals weren't awarded until 1904.
