Hiya

I hope some one can guide me. I have no GCSEs or a levels. I want to better myself and possibly become a legal executive. I’ve been searching course (access to higher education courses and initially they show that you don’t need former qualifications as a mature student, however when I go in the details but it tells me I need GCSEs. How do I proceed to do this course? I’m so lost and need guidance and help. I would appreciate any advice on which way forward I need to go to do this. Thanks

Looking at a random (but relevant) course provider's website
https://www.uspcollege.ac.uk/courses-apprenticeships/our-courses/our-adult-courses/law-business-access-to-higher-education/
suggests that you'll probably need to work in two stages. i.e. obtain higher-level GCSE passes in Maths and English first and then go on to commence an Access course. I note though that the provider I've linked to is prepared to allow students onto the access course who've only got the GCSE English qualification, as long as they commit to studying GCSE Mathematics alongside their Access course. Other providers might offer something similar.

buenchico, thank you. Any chance I could ask you to find me a course like you have, but in Rotherham or Sheffield please
I'll have a look but it's worth noting that although the course in my link is run by a college in Essex, it solely uses remote learning. So you could still join it from where you're based.

The only course in the Sheffield/Rotherham area showing on the Access to HE website is Law at The Sheffield College. However, regrettably, it's not showing up on the College's own website:
https://www.sheffcol.ac.uk/access-to-university
(It might be worth a phone call to find out if there are any plans to reinstate it in the future though).

The Sheffield College offers courses for adults in GCSE Maths
https://www.sheffcol.ac.uk/courses/page/352104C9-880A-41CD-919E-42A1A63931A6
and English
https://www.sheffcol.ac.uk/courses/page/94DBFF60-CA91-4AE4-A496-FD285861FF79

You could also study those core subjects at Rotherham College:
https://courses.rotherham.ac.uk/PSWebEnrolment/webenrolment.aspx?page=~/webcontrols/coursedisplayFE.ascx&CourseInformationID=6010
and
https://courses.rotherham.ac.uk/PSWebEnrolment/webenrolment.aspx?page=~/webcontrols/coursedisplayFE.ascx&CourseInformationID=6009

Once you've got those qualifications under your belt, you could then consider a remote learning Access course, such as the one in my first link above.
Contact the colleges/universities. Ask to speak to somebody that deals with mature student applications.
choose the course you want - paralegal or whatever
and go along to them and say I wanna do this course
what do I need

in my case is it was Maff and they said - retake your maff a levels
so I did - - ( story doesnt end happily: instead of starting the first year ( maff) I was on an intensive care unit )
which is kinda longer than Tuvok but the same
