By taste only, tell the difference between a free range egg and a caged egg? I can't, the only way I can tell is by price.

I do find the real free range seem to have bigger yolks and a deeper colour.

As for taste, I cant taste delicate tastes like egg due to a medical problem.

Unless they're, say, used as cake ingredients or similar, I don't eat eggs. Revolting things!

I understand that double yolks are caused when the birds start laying. They are usually only available for short periods

My sense of taste has never been that great and since having Covid (whimpers pitifully) it's worse so I'd be a 'no'.

bednobs, yes you can buy eggs that aren't free range. There are no battery chickens but there are still chickens that never have the chance to go outdoors but are reared in huge barns and 'colony cages' which are huge cages holding up to 80 birds that the hens stay in until slaughter.
