First of all if I am going out for a few hours - I put Maxie out the back (has a warm kennel) and if it is around dinner time (for him) - he gets his dinner in his dish and right beside is another dish full of water, absolutely the exact same as the one I keep inside for him.
When I have come home - I let him in and the first thing he goes for is the inside water dish and sups it until it is nearly gone.
I don't understand why he doesn't drink out of this bowl right beside his dinner bowl. I don't like this happening - is there any thing I can do. Also there are basins of rain water lying about but he doesn't realise it.
Pat. It can be the other business too. It has happened in the bedroom not a lot but the last two times I put dog nappies down he went on those. He could be whining but I can't hear whining particularly if I sleep
Poppy definitely only likes water straight from the tap, Pixie! Mind you our water doesn't taste at all. She won't drink from puddles or any dogbowls when we go out either. We take a flask and she drinks from the cup!! Weird little madam!
Not having a dig jj, but I would never, ever, ever leave my dog outside on her own, warm kennel or not. She would hate it and be very unhappy. My dog would rather drink out of puddles on our walks than her lovely, fresh drinking water, but I put this down to the fact that she was a street dog before we found each other.
