I am having trouble with my satellite signal, any type of bad weather interferes with the reception. Is this a sign of my L&B needing replacing or is other people suffering as well

Clouds, snow and rain can all have an impact on the quality of the signal being received and in most cases severe weather will noticeably effect reception. Typically starting with a �blocky� picture then no picture followed by no a �satellite signal being received� message. You don�t say whether your picture loss is happening more frequent or has always happened but there are several things to try.
Firstly have a look at the signal strength and picture quality settings in the satellite menu � these can be found using your SKY remote control. In clear weather both signal strength and signal quality should be near the top of the signal strength meter. If this is not the case contact SKY.
Secondly your mini dish or LNB could have become misaligned � Window cleaners or even severe wind can do this. Again if this is the case then contact SKY
Thirdly you could have water penetrating the coax (aerial) wire. You won�t be able to test for this but a qualified SKY installer will.
Fourthly, and the easiest to check, is to make sure that the coax lead is secure in the back of the SKY box and the plug at the end hasn�t become loose Unscrew the connector and make sure its property fitted to the coax then screw it back into the Digibox.
Finally you may live in a weaker signal area and require a larger dish, again your installer will need to help you with this.
