I am not a hoarder - I clear out pretty often but am reluctant to throw papers out - you know insurance, manuals for various gadgets - they just gather up.
How do you the rest of you manage. I mean there was a time I needed to look for a certain paperwork last year about something that happened about 6 years ago. Things like that.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.My friend who passed away last August must take the hoarder crown, we can’t put her house up for sale as we’re still clearing her ‘stash ‘ a hoover that must be at least 30 yrs old ( broken) paperwork dating back to 1964, suit carriers that are brand new , multiple hard shell lap top cases ( she never had one!) to name but a fraction
I keep manuals for gadgets that I still use. Any manuals for gadgets that I don't have are thrown out. The same applies to insurance papers: if the insurance doesn't apply any more, out they go. Papers that I keep are filed in appropriate file drawers/envelope files, so that I can find them (fairly) quickly.
