Great news for all young folk in Scotland. From today, all young people aged from 5 - 22 are entitled to free bus travel. This will make a huge difference to families on limited income.

Underwater buses jno! ;0)
it would be very educational to drive past coral reefs and things like that. Maybe there are even Scottish sharks to look out for.

Over 60s also have free bus travel Scotland wide. However, many rural areas are extremely disadvantaged with almost non existent public transport. The latest travel passes for under 22s will greatly benefit youngsters like my granddaughter who needs 2 buses (full fare) each way to attend college. Not every household has a car.

//...they do the same for oldies down in London and elsewhere.//

Very much elsewhere. All people of State Pension age in England have free travel on local buses across the whole of the country. Pensioners living in the 32 London boroughs also enjoy free travel on the Underground, the Overground, the Docklands Light Railway, trams and most local train services. They are also eligible for discounted fares on the Thames Riverbus services and the Emirates Air Line (that's the cable car, not the aircraft operator).
Lots of money poured into London then! I'm a Londoner by birth. Great place to live back then.
//I can understand 5 - 18 yr olds. But why 22 yr. olds?//

So that they aren't too stressed out walking to the kebab shop or the arcade.
Other folk eh? What are they like? Oughta be a law.
