Security Lights With Sensor

I have had them for years but haven't been using them for years either so because we getting a lot of break-ins in a few areas from where I live - I wanted to use them again.

The electrician wired them to a plug in my bedroom and so of course they are not working.

I spoke to my handyman who told me to buy LED ones this time as of course they are energy saving.

Anybody point me to some - thanks. Front and side of house.

Best to ask an electrician as you'll need them to fit the lights so they can source them too. Anything from DIY stores tend not to last long as water gets in them.

I bought some cheap ones years ago from ebay or amazon that have memory cards in so they record any activity. They are still working well

I think barry1010 is talking about security cameras.

The LED type with a PIR sensor will be far more energy efficient and I would recommend getting an electrician in to hardwire them in rather than putting a plug on them and plugging them into a socket.

There are many on the market and I would ask an electrician for advice on the best ones to buy.

Someone I know who advises people on the subject of security said it is best to set security lights to come on for about ten seconds if they are activated, so that if an intruder is moving about, the light will flash. People will take more notice of a flashing light than one that stays on.

Electro, mine are PIR security floodlights that also have a camera and records activity.

Have you thought about solar lights? These have batteries which are charged by sunlight so need no mains connection ie, all you need is a screwdriver to put them up and no running costs. The batteries are standard AA rechargeables so, if after several years they start to fail, you can replace them yourself cheaply.
