I always read the front page of the various newspapers on the BBC website. Tucked away at the bottom of The Telegraph front page (full article on Business page 1) is a little snippet which states that the law governing smart meters is changing so that tariffs can be altered up to 48 (not a typo) times a day to take into account surges in energy use. Unfortunately I can't provide a link but I hope somebody can.
