Dealt with accordingly. There's a novelty!
isnt this you just doing EXACTLY the same as what gulliver does that exercises you so?
Oh look. A politician who apologises.
Bednobs, as the OP states, this is from BBC News
i'm not saying it's not news danny.
I'm just pointing out that TTT bleats about gulliver just posting rubbish about the tories with no question, and then just bleats rubbish about labour with no question
OK, fair enough.
Sounds like he has a drink problem.
He is banned for 6 months, should probably try and get some help.
We have been appalled at the drinking culture at No.10, but the same, if not worse, is every day in Parliament.
About time the place was reformed and brought into the 21st Century. I believe the bar prices are subsidised, and closing times are late. That should be stopped.
People can behave badly, has ever been so.
Gromit , that’s a big assumption. Re drink problem. Unless you know otherwise ?
Remember LibDem Charles Kennedy who had to resign because of his alcoholism, and sadly died young.
//We have been appalled at the drinking culture at No.10//

I haven't.
Yes, I remember Charles Kennedy .
i have. I find it fairly incredible that workplaces today allow open alcohol and consumption on the premises
Doesnt surprise me in the slightest from that thinly disguised rabble.
Anne,
The incidents were at the Strangers bar. But he is not just barred from there, he is barred from all 30 bars in Parliament. So I think they have done that for his own good.

The 30 bars are subsidised by the tax payer, to the tune of £3 million a year or £60,000 a week. It has the cheapest drinking prices in London. There have been several publicised fights.
he also referred to China as "Fu Manchu".

Maybe he'll make foreign secretary one day.
//I believe the bar prices are subsidised, and closing times are late. That should be stopped.//

Not only should that be stopped. There should be no bars in the Palace of Westminster at all.

As for the incident itself: no big deal. The sort of banter you'd get in any pub or bar in the evening after a few bevvies have been consumed (Mr Dyer, of course, had already been out for a New Year's dinner). That's why boozing should be prohibited.
