jno - and the Chinese are right, the protocol is to wear under-breeks when there is a Queen on the throne, just to remove the chance of embarrassment if the wind, as in Eunice or Franklin, blowing their kilts up just as she is passing by.
I accept that this would be unlikely in Beijing and what with her sniffling away in the Covid camp called Windsor. President 'She done Ping' may have equally been embarrassed though.
