Sooo a bit of a collection. i like the kinda adult alternative like joseph arthur etc, so reccomendations would be great!
Ooooh, Tinseltown by The Blue Nile...what a cracking track. Duel too....superb. Waves of nostalgia Lodekka..I'm off to look that out and have a listen. What about some Goodbye Mr McKenzie, Horse, The Alarm, early Waterboys stuff (don't let the over played Whole of the Moon put you off), Echo and The Bunnymen, Stranglers...wow, showing my age tho huh??
For new bands, Jet & The Killers come highly recommended by a mate of mine. No matter what new bands I listen to I always make time for Hendrix, especially less well known tracks like Earth Blues & Hey Baby (both on the "First Rays..." album). Then there's also more indie/alternative stuff like The Amps, McLusky, Snow Patrol etc.
Finally, I absolutely LOVE Super Furry Animals
The Flirtations-Nothing but a heartache
Jimi Hendrix-Hey Joe (live at woodstock)
Smokey Robinson-California Soul
Betty Everett-It's getting mighty crowded
Red Hot Chili Peppers-Don't Forget Me
Coldplay-Amsterdam
Jurassic 5-Concrete Schoolyard
Faithless-Insomnia
Marlena Shaw-California Soul
The Rolling Stones-Gimme shelter
Pink Floyd-High Hopes
Buffalo Springfield-Stop
T-Rex-Get It On
Edith Piaf-Je ne regrette rien
Now you can tell s your a 'variety' man.
