No organisation in the world, particularly one as diverse as the UN, can stop an evil dictator.
You can't legislate for that.

It has issues of course.
The UNHCR for example, has members who wouldn't know human rights if they leapt up and bit them.
And the Security Council has Russia and China on it.
But they do do good work in many fields.
There are no guarantors of a peaceful world however.

i hear many ill informed people texting tv presenters saying why are we "sat on our hands" send NATO in, well if one NATO aircraft shoots down a Russian aircraft or kills one Russian soldier that is the third world war started, NATO would be attacking Russia.

Russia cannot carry on as a N Korea on steroids & expect the world to accept it as a reasonable democratic peace-loving country. Europe & the USA should use all possible means to bankrupt Russia and promote a change in leadership & policy.
