Does This Mean That My Collegue Doesn’t Want To Meet For A Catch Up?
12 Answers
Please excuse me I’ve no common sense when it comes to people
An old collegue left last November and ive not seen him for a while. He texted now and again asking how I was, I saw him in passing last month. He has said on several texts that we should meet for a coffee/ catchup and I agreed.
I happened to have a flask of his in my car boot he left in the office. I forgot about it he asked where it was a month ago. He said to keep hold of it as it would be a good excuse for a coffee
Today he texted asking if he could collect it off me at work
I’m a bit socially inept. Does this mean he doesn’t want to meet for a catch-up anymore ?

I've had similar happen. I usually wait for them to make the next move if I've already agreed to meet up at some point. I've come to the conclusion that if no meet-up is agreed fairly soon, then it's not meant to happen. Sometimes I wish I pursued things because I don't have a huge circle of friends, certainly no one I really trust.
As jno suggests, ask him on the spot.

Tomus42 - it just seems like he’s changed his mind with him saying keep hold of the flask until we meet for a catch-up then suddenly asking for it back in what will be a quick exchange
About the no sense thing people do say he is odd. He once persuaded me to apply for a job working in a more senior role with him, he rang/texted several times asking if I’d apply and he even made some company plans with me (I helped him out a bit for a few shifts).
Then he suddenly went distant, interviewed me and gave it to someone else. He said I wasn’t very efficient on the days I helped him out and he wanted more output lol. True story
