We've finished the crossword (we think) but can't parse two of the answers:
6d: Overturned soil packs empty ditches (5) D?M?S. It looks like "DUMPS" and I can see where the "D" and the"S" come from but why the middle?
20a:With no place to go, a gin looks awfully inviting (6) ?SI?G. We biffed "ASKING" FOR "INVITING " and can see the anagram of "GIN" but why ASK.
Any enlightenment would be gratefully received.
