I did, BM. The boy got a second name starting with a consonant so I could really express it. The girl got two middle names because girl's are harder to scare. :-)
It used to be that being addressed as David (rather than Dave) meant I was in big trouble - but the Irish don't really do 'Dave', so as I've settled into life here, more people have come to know me as David.
Now if I start getting called Dáithí then I'll know I've gone entirely local ...
Dave only gets Dave here in Ireland at the Whiskey tasting evenings with the two other Davids. So we have to have David, Dáithí, and Dave or things get confusing but he's slowly becoming Dáithí which is lovely... :-)
