I wonder if anybody can assist me with a problem that I have with my car. Around 2-3 weeks ago the inside light started flashing as I was driving along, then the radio went off and I have a sign on the dashboard saying that the boot lid is open, but I have attempted to close it but it will neither open nor close, and I am still getting the same message saying it is open. I no longer have the inside light flashing but I am still getting the message saying the boot lid is open, and I am unable to close the central locking. I have had replacement knees and a replacement hip and shoulder so I am unable to get down to check the internal fuses, but I have checked all of the fuses under the bonnet, and they are fine, and I have no idea which fuse would be the one for the radio or the central locking, however I assume that the central locking is not working because of the message saying the boot lid is open.

//Some models had a little hole on the inside of the tailgate, by the catch, into which you could insert a small screwdriver to release the catch.//

If you can reach the inside!

I'll check it out to see if it is there, thanks davebro.
have you tried this ?
Have you checked the fuses? There may be a common fuse for all those things.

I have tried loads of things to open the boot, but to no avail, I got an auto electrician to check my car and it turns out that water has been dripping down the back of the dashboard and onto the main board and the board is knackered and he reckons it would cost around £200 for a new board, then I would need to get it programmed and due to the age of the car etc. the auto electrician told me it wouldn't be worth the cost. Fair play to him he didn't do any unnecessary work and only charged me for carrying out the initial test, i.e. £45:00
