Windows 11?
14 Answers
My new laptop is offering me a free upgrade to Windows 11. Have any ABers got it already, and, if so, would you recommend it?
I only use my laptop for internet, emails and the odd YouTube video, so I can't imagine it would 'enhance my experience'.

Something's wrong when M'soft says (eg) "this is how that should look from now on" & most everyone says "no, I liked it before, it was easier/better/nicer" & people then have to start making registry hacks, which in a huge number of cases ends badly because they don't really know what they're doing.
You'll get responses here from some that think W11 is the bee's knees - it isn't - yet (it might be one day) - it's a bit of dog's breakfast. IMO, of course.

Have got W11 on my surface pro and it is superb. You don't need to use, or indeed open, all the bells and whistles that come with it to have the benefits of what else it brings. Quicker, graphics better, more secure... etc. etc. I think that Barry is also using it on a laptop and is similarly happy. My desktop did not meet all the specs, in that it had no trusted protocol feature enabled. I have since aquired a tp module and when I am ready to put it on the bench for a clean up of the fans, grills, and case I will fit the module and install W11 on that too.
Togo, I was ignoring this post - I have resolved not to recommend anything to anyone as past experience has taught me that though I am delighted with the quality of the goods and the service (whether it be a techie product, butchers, restaurant), others tell me they were disappointed and it's all my fault :(
However, I really like W11 and have had no problem with any of my machines or peripherals. I find it intuitive to use, faster and not a steep learning curve.
