Let's have some of your practical tips to saving utility expenditure.
such as:
* minimum water to heat in the kettle, make sure the lid is on
* making sure of minimum heat-up time on the oven and switching off power as I take things out or off the rings.
* cutting shower time water
* far more use of the outdoor drying line over the dryer - more assessment of the weather before a wash-load goes ahead.
* use of a thermal blanket rather than heating - my Dreamland, a present, is brilliant and 1p/hour consumption apparently.

Also, keep your windows shut in cold weather, and make sure your room thermostat is set one or two degrees lower than what you are used to (Put a pully on!)//

Snapping up thermal under layer garments like vests and leggings whenever I see them on offer for whole family and encouraging them to layer up before saying they feel cold. Taken to wearing double pyjamas and 3 pairs of bed socks so we can turn heating down. I predict a fall in pregnancies and births in the next year if this trend continues!
