why is she being so miserable after having a baby? i know its got down's syndrome but is that the reason why she is miserable?

One of the things that can happen when you have a baby who is disabled is that you go through the same process of grief as if had lost the baby.You grieve for the baby you were expecting to have.

could be post-natal depression? but that would seem a bit too like the Corrie story line with Claire I suppose?

acorrding to midwifes and other heath workers who were interviwed, about her acting on this subject of having downs baby her reactions are very acurate, but the rest were apparently she makes billy decied her or the baby [or is it the other way round is a bit off the mark]
