Although off topic, if I were Boris Becker, by hook or by crook, I’d get myself back to Germany and live out my years in freedom there. Germany has a habit of refusing to extradite its citizens.

Boris surrendered his passport such that he would not be a flight risk – but had I been the judge at his trial, I’d have remanded him in custody, given that it is almost certain he will be jailed (given the amount of money involved in his deception) and the difficulty in getting him back from Germany.
Be interesting to see (if he still has his liberty by then) whether the BBC will continue to employ him as a commentator at Wimbledon this year. It is equally interesting that the BBC employ him to broadcast in English on a UK channel bearing in mind that when he appeared in a UK court he had to be granted (at taxpayers' expense) the services of an interpreter.

I hope not because I cannot understand a word he utters. This is nothing to do with his grasp of English but more to do with the fact that he seems to speak with his mouth full of marbles.
I very much doubt that the BBC will ever employ Boris again, given his conviction in a UK court with a stint in jail.

If he were to make it back to Germany to avoid spending time at her majesty’s pleasure – it would be a huge embarrassment to Germany to have to refuse his extradition – he might even find himself on an international arrest warrant and be forced to never leave his homeland.
