I have an error code f76 showing on valiant boiler. I have a gas man looking into it but I'm not sure he has found the right fault. Anyone come across this. Thank you
As we neither know the fault that has been diagnosed nor the part that has been ordered, it's not entirely clear to me as to how anyone here can provide a meaningful reply to your post!
Maggie ... it is a serious, possibly dangerous, fault warning. Probably overheated boiler or heat exchanger for some reason. I would trust your gas safe registered engineer on this one. It looks like it may be expensive mind.
Yes fine. I just wondered if anyone had encountered this fault and were able to resolve it or purchased a new boiler that's that's what I keep reading but the part
That's what concerns me. The part he has ordered isn't that expensive and looking on YouTube it is not the part they say is at fault. I don't want to sound like I am undermining him as I'm no expert
Maggie ... the usual complaint is that gas engineers are over egging the pudding with their "diagnosises and parts required" projections. The fitter will not leave you with a dangerous or damaged boiler when he has finished. Forget "online doom merchants" and learn to trust a qualified tradesman. If he has diagnosed the fault then he is taking responsibility for the repair. I think that you are lucky to have an honest gas engineer doing the job. I you want a big bill I can send you one. :)) Quack.
