why put this into an answer if it hasn't been altered in anyway??

well i know if a swear word ia used the bots zap it and u get the red legend as u say, not saying you swore mind joko, but that is the only thing i can think of.

No i didn't swear. the answer is still there, in full, it just has the red box at the bottom...mmmm...weird...?

perhaps i'll ask if anyone on the thread can think of why

No, now I come to think of it, when that happened to me it didn't say 'edited', it said BANNED !

Any changes - even as small as removing extra spaces are displayed as "edited" though the content of your post remains the same. That is the way it is.

I believe these gaps are what is known as 'cyberspace', TCL. Some people leave quite long ones at the end of their posts as well.
