What Is The Bmw 5 Series F10 Like To Drive?

I currently drive a 13 year old Jaguar x type and am looking for another car at some point. I’m currently looking for ones that are great to drive and fast. The jag I’m in now puts out about 130bhp so it feels a bit underwhelming when it comes to performance. Nice car though, I’ve had the jag for 3 years. I’d be interested in the bmw 530D. For those who have drove that particular model, or even the 520D, what did it feel like to drive and sit in? Thanks

The 530d or any BMW straight six is a very good engine but make sure its well serviced.The 520 is ok but not as good.The 535d is a bit more pokey.

Depends what you are used to Dan..I've had 2 530d's and both were good...the last F10 was a 4.4 V8 590hp....that pinned me back.

Ryzen- well I’m currently driving a 130bhp jag x type. It’s got plenty overtaking power but it kind of feels underwhelming. The 530d has 258bhp. Obviously that’s a lot more. So would that feel extremely fast compared to what I’m experiencing now?

0-62 in sub 6s...yes it would make the Jag feel pedestrian :-)..but go for a well maintained car with a dealer warranty. Like all cars they do go wrong and aint cheap to fix. What age were you considering?

Ryzen- probably 2014/15 ish. This jag I’ve had for three years and touch wood, it’s only needed one job which cost me £170. As I live with my folks and earn decent money the repair costs are affordable

The tech in a 2015 F10 will make your 13 year old Jag feel like a pedal car. There is loads to go wrong..mine were all new..so no nasty surprises. Go for it but leave a few grand in the pot for possible repairs.

i tend to avoid BMWs as they are predominantly rear wheel drive which is poor in bad weather. Never been a fan of diesel now even more so with the skyhigh pump prices. While is doesnt sound so charismatic i had a Audi 1.8 turbo which accelerated very well, was extremely economic, 620 miles on a tank, and stepped along at 135 on the autobahn while passing through Germany.

Crap at cryptics - I’ve heard that rear wheel drive cars are way more fun to drive though! The 530d is also very economical

Don't know anything about cars, apart from they are a metal box on wheels that get me from A to B but I do know my neighbour had a BMW and in ice or snow he struggled to get off the slight incline of his drive and then drive away.
