I think this is good news but will it stop those from certain communities dragging under age girls to countries like Pakistan or India for arranged marriages?

I believe there is one country where paedophilia is an accepted way of life throughout their society. I don't think the debate would happen there.

we went thro this with the status of multiple marriages in 1967 - do you say wives no 2 and 3 - arent wives?

they decided not ( unjust) and so a child married abroad - what is her status here? is it better to say the 16 is now not married?

Following on from the success of nobody under the age of 18 drinking alcohol, this one will take care of itself.

If our leaders imagine that this will protect folk from stoneage mindsets and that the police will respond to reports with gusto then they're even worse than they appear.

This won't make the slightest difference to the people it's intended for. Many Muslims are married in ceremonies that are not legally recognised in this country anyway - and most certainly those that involve very young girls. Those children who are taken abroad to be married will be taken anyway.
