Ms Dorres (or possibly someone in her department) simply did a cut and paste job in response to the Angela Rayner incident.

It’s obvious it was copied, so why not just say so, rather than lie?

Why is this government so allergic to telling the truth?

//Why is this government so allergic to telling the truth?//

That should have been written as "Why are politicians so allergic to telling the truth?"

Dorres is not the brightest spark is she?

But surely this makes Labour look even worse. How can they not score against such a sorry looking bunch as we have currently in Government?

Not the brightest spark is putting it mildly

Did you see that Tok Tok video she made earlier this week?

She's the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and referred to 'down streaming' movies, tennis 'pitches' and said one of her goals is to “make the internet in the UK the safest internet in the world".

Perhaps the opposition parties simply can't keep up with her?

Dorres is a best selling author with numerous published books under her name.
Probably best not to Tweet on the subject at all rather appear insincere by using someone else’s words.
All she had to do was attribute the writer…
Dorres: I agree with the Prime Minister when he said “Quote”.
> How can they not score against such a sorry looking bunch as we have currently in Government?

Sadly, it's a bit like asking "How can Hartlepool United not score against Northampton Town?"
She's useless. Why on earth was she appointed? Boris and quotas?

Northampton are vying for promotion, while Hartlepool are lower mid-table. More like Oldham v Scunthorpe.

Christopher Howse said in his review for the Telegraph that "The Four Streets" was the "worst novel I've read in ten years". So she's no Kate Atkinson or Ian McEwan.
> Northampton are vying for promotion, while Hartlepool are lower mid-table.

LOL, well they're both League Two (i.e. fourth division) sides! I chose them because Hartlepool was low in the For column, and Northampton low in the Against column, and we were talking about scoring ... but happy to accept you Oldham v Scunthorpe alternative!
Wasn't she just re-posting what he'd said? Where did she lie?
Question Author
She didn't quote him (ie. she didn't do what Gromit suggested) - she posted as if it were her words. The lie came from Chris Philp a technology minister. He said there's “nothing surprising” about the PM and culture secretary tweeting out the exact same message.

The exact same message word for word...that would be a lie.
//there's “nothing surprising” about the PM and culture secretary tweeting out the exact same message. It's just the same message. //

How is that a lie? They did tweet the same message.
As I understand it, tweets can be re-tweeted, meaning it is clear who posted the original tweet but in this instance, it looked as if her tweet were her own thoughts on the matter.
The lie is that she didn't re-post what he said, she just happened to come up with the exact same words, which were: "As much as I disagree with @AngelaRayner on almost every political issue I respect her as a parliamentarian and deplore the misogyny directed at her anonymously today."

When you repost someone on Twitter, it's obvious. So she did not re-post Boris, just used exactly the same words as Boris, 20 minutes later. She did not mention Boris at all.

The implication is that they weren't Boris's words either, they were simply a form of words sent to both of them by some legal/media flunky. But the party line is that Nadine and Boris just happened to come up with the exact same words, 20 minutes apart.

Do you believe that *completely independently* Nadine Dorries came up with exactly the same thought as the Prime Minister- using exactly the same words?

It may be true to suggest that they both feel the same on the subject - but it’s a lie to say that the tweets were written independently.

It would’ve made more sense to say - Ms Dorries agreed with the PM 100% and thought his sentiments summed it up perfectly.

But no…
SP, Who said the tweets were written independently? I looked at that and thought it obvious that she’d re-tweeted what he said because she thought the same. This is just yet another fuss over nothing. As for lies, the only lie I see here is yours when you said she’s liar. She hasn’t claimed it to be all her own work. Pathetic.
> I looked at that and thought it obvious that she’d re-tweeted what he said

Do you know much about Twitter? Do you know what a retweet is, and what it looks like? A retweet would have been fine. This was not a retweet ... although it could have been a lame attempt at a retweet from a Culture Secretary that doesn't know much about the culture that she's secretary of.
Monkeys, keyboards, Shakespeare. X
//She's useless. Why on earth was she appointed? Boris and quotas?//

Well maybe not quotas, but remember when a man marries his mistress a position becomes available.

Ha ha ha...sure.

"Who said the tweets were written independently?"

Chris Philip did. He's the technology minister who said there's “nothing surprising” about the PM and culture secretary tweeting out the exact same message.

He should've simply said, "Ms Dorries echoed the PM's opinion".

Tell me - how were you able to tell that the tweet was obviously a retweet - did you see Johnson's original tweet?
