In the eyes of the law, the accused is innocent until proven guilty - but once accusations of sexual imperpriety are made, what do you do?

I think Westwood and Capital have done the right thing - but is there any other way this could've been addressed? Should the women have reported him to the police first?

yeah but no but
reputation is not a matter of law is it?
//From stats alone, it suggests far more "get away" with it from lack of evidence, than are wrongly accused.//

I am really struggling to know where you get those sort of stats. It can only be because someone hasnt agreed with the Courts decision. Not enough evidence means it is not possible to prove, or do you think people should be jailed even when evidence is short?

Not unless you have enough brass to get legal injunctions.
No, ymb, just that that is what happens. I don't know the answer. There is no doubt- that it isn't 50/50. It's more 5/95... weighted towards the accused.
But how do you know that. It's impossible to know that it can only be based on an opinion.

If the evidence was there then case proven, if it isnt then maybe it doesnt exist. You cant just say that if the evidence isnt there it is because you haven't found it.

Where did you get those figures from so I can take a look and see how they get to it?
ymb, police logged 63,136 rape allegations in a year; 1,557 went to court. Something's not right there.
No, but that doesn't translate direct into stats does it?

The Police actually log many cases of many things that dont actually go the distance, particularly where alcohol is concerned.

It's also dangerous bandying around stats like that as it fuels the no smoke without fire brigade. Another reason people should remain anonymous.
