I don't think he has had a single seriously negative comment to any of his dishes , right from the off .

In fact he is the best MasterChef contestant I've seen from any series

Any other day one of them could have won .

i mean no disrespect by this, but cooking is just cooking - it's not glamourous or lucrative - some of the contestants imo are coming down a notch or two from their ordinary job to go on there surely?

Being able to create and give people food that is both delicious and beautiful is a gift, a talent, a calling. Not done because it's lucrative...it's done out of love for the whole process.

i dont mean disrespect to chefs, cookers, preparation people. Michelin stars may be glamourous, but my impression is that 98% of cheffing/cooking is hard work, for not much reward at all except extremely long hours, huge stress, prevalent alcoholism, poor pay.
one of them in the series was a doctor previously and said that being on masterchef (1 televised cooking competition) was the highlight of their life. That person is never going to be a michelin starred chef, and all of them except perhaps the finalists will sink into obscurity in the cooking world
