Drinking and Babies!!!
I havea friend that takes her baby to the pub all the time. She pops in for one and ends up staying late and getting drunk. I think it's really bad. This happens at weekends and mid week. She's on benefits which makes me think that she is sacrificing something her baby needs to go out. What would you think if you seen someone like this in a pub?

Seriously I think it depends on the type of pub, whether it' s acceptable to take babies/ children in. If it's a Brewers Fayre type place which are very family orientated, I don't see anything wrong with having a few drinks whilst having a meal or whatever- however It' a different kettle of fish when it's a normal boozer and you go in to get bladdered and take ya kids too! Who in their right mind would want to put their children in that kind of environment?
A harsh as this sounds I would contact social services- this is not the behaviour of a responsible parent.

An awful situation to be in. My wife's sister had a little one 2 months before we did and she and her husband quite happily take her to the local pub where she gets to breath all the lovely 2nd hand toxic carcinogens and pick up some lovely first words too (she likes 'ARSE' at the moment). Also has a penchant for punching mummy in the face.
On the other hand, we never take our littl'un even near a pub unless the weather is good enough to sit outside. I'm fairly sure we've been lambasted for being over protective.
Unfortunately, being a good or bad parent is merely a perspective based on personal standards.

Well you obviously know that this isn't right ummm, why you've done this post.
I'd seriously contemplate calling the social services, I'm sure if you ask them to leave your name out of it, they'll comply.
No baby should have to endure sitting in a pub for hours on end whilst his/her mum gets totally plastered and presume ably incapable of looking after them.

Thats your house, you can't tar everyone with the same brush, i have been on benefits and due to circumstances i still get some, and my son is a lovely boy and will continue to be. And i know plenty of people bought up on benefits who are more decent than some of the rich people that parade about round my area.
he /she said that the child will grow up to be scum as they are on benefits.
On the subject of the pub thing, are you close enough to bring it up with your friend without getting a nasty/violent reaction?
If you think the baby is going without or is being neglected (although a pub isnt a nice environment so that could be deemed neglectful if its a rough place) then i would be inclined to report it, surely the poor baby cant sleep properly in the pub, and as you say may be going without to subsidise your friends drinking.

i was once so drunk i could not drive so my eldest son 14 had to take my sleeping child 3 home for me with his sister 15 in a wheelbarrow wrapped in a duvet accompanied by their drunken dad
how much grief did i get off mrs dilf for that.
and i would have got away with it if they had not grassed me up
bad dad or what

Good luck then ummm, I know your friendship with this woman will more than likely take a battering- but it will be worth it, hopefully if the authorities become involved it might be the wake up call this woman needs.
