I liked The Fabulous Freak Brothers. Comics from the late 60s, early 70s, I think.

Sandy, The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers (and Fat Freddie's Cat) ran from the late 60s until the late 90s. You're right, it's magnificent.

For newspaper strips, Calvin & Hobbes, The Far Side, Dilbert, Footrot Flats and Foxtrot arw among my favourites.
