Fixed income. (Company pension up by £23 per month)
Fuel up by £30 pm, food shop monthly big shop up by around £20 per month, council tax up by £10 per month, and rent up £25 pm. Can't afford ad hoc bus trips to local centre so if I need a loaf of bread local shop price up from £1.35 to £1.79. Just over a year until I get my state pension, no help til then as I am just over the benefit threshold.

its a well known fact
"Brand-new mobile phones handed out to illegal entrants seeking asylum would be in addition to a cornucopia of benefits – including all-expenses paid housing and cash cards – which cost taxpayers at least £400 million per year."

As I've said before, there is no poverty in this country. That's what the govt thinks, anyway. The govt sees people with mobile phones, flatscreen tvs, family car, satellite/cable subscription, computer/laptop/tablet, gymn/sportsclub season ticket, foreign holidays, regular consumers of alcohol/cigarettes. Maybe not so much cigarettes, but definitely alcohol, which is more harmful than anything but is promoted and encouraged nationally. Not to mention all the recreational drugs too.
