My 2014 Chevy Cruze has recently failed a smog test. I took it to the Chevy Dealership I got it from and the technician there says it failed the smog test because Catalytic Converter requires replacement. The overall price I was given there for the part and the service is $2,700.

You need to remember that this is a UK site and Chevrolet vehicles are a very rare sight on our roads. So it's unlikely that you'll find anyone here who's experienced a similar problem.

However this website suggests that a typical 'supply & fit' price for the job in the UK might be around £400 (= $500)
https://www.fixter.co.uk/catalytic-converter-replacement/chevrolet/cruze
and the US version of eBay finds the part itself available for under $150
https://www.ebay.com/itm/333596759599

So I think that it might be best to look for someone else to do the job for you!
