At my school, i’m known as the quiet girl, and I don’t think that’s going to change. I feel so miserable at my current school to the point where I have almost 30+ unexcused absences. It’s hard for me to fit in with this school both academically and socially, and i barely have anyone at this school that i can call my REAL friend. There is a school that has everything that I’m interested in, and I have a few friends there as well. If I switch, I would have to talk to my guidance counselor and they will contact the other school to decide what’s best for me. And even then, the other school can’t guarantee a spot for me because there aren’t any spots open. They said that they would put me on the list to apply next year, but it won’t guarantee that I’ll be in the school. What should I do?! I’m so tired of being miserable at my current school, I just want to start new, make new friends, and focus on something I ACTUALLY want to do with my life. I just want to be happy.
What age are you? If the school you're interested in has no vacancies you could consider 6th form college to do your A Levels. After that there's university. But in the meantime try to do as best as you can where you are.
A change is as good as a rest. Maybe making a new circle of friends at a new school will change your outlook and perception?
Is there a teacher you could discuss your feelings with?
The fact that you talk about highschool and a guidance counsellor, suggests that you are in America. What do you have to lose by applying - maybe there will be a vacancy for the next year - you won't know unless you try.
Move on if you can, but if you can't you should try to adopt a more positive attitude to the school you are at by concentrating on the good things there, not the bad, there must be some.
Remember the grass isn't ALWAYS greener on the other side of the hill.
