It is still a holiday even if it's a holiday taken in the UK. Don't have to get on a plane to have a great holiday. Horrible made up word.

When I was a kid a lot of my mates holidayed at Ourgate. :D

I didnt go abroad until I was in my late twenties, but I'd had a holiday every year of my childhood.

My Dad only had two weeks holiday a year and thats when we went away. Imagine his response to it being called Annual Leave!

"I totally agree with you! You don't have to go overseas and cross the oceans to say that you were on holiday. For instance, I'm from Utah, and my schedule doesn't allow me to go on long-distance trips. Last winter, my fiancee and I went to Colorado to explore the surrounding area. First things first, we visited Denver. It was an ok-ish city. I can't praise it more, even if you would hold a gun to my head. 'Television' isn't a good comparison. A television has always been a television, a staycation is properly a holiday
