Lemon juice, tahini paste, garlic, olive oil. No salt from what I remember, but I'd put some in, myself.
one can of chick peas
one crushed garlic clove
3 tbsp tahini paste
4 tbsp olive oli
lemon juice

zap all above in blender and bung in fridge

What is tahini paste ?? Can I get in supermarket ??
yes you can, I actually bought a jar yesterday in Morrisons, it is with the Greek type food (vine leaves, cous cous etc)

Thanks I will get some, never heard of it before. I made the houmous anyway without the tahini paste and it is OK but tastes as if something is missing - probably the tahini paste !
smurfchops ... Tahini is Sesame paste, made from grinding up sesame seeds..

if you struggle to get it (not all supermarkets have it) get some sesame oil and add a few drops. It'll make the taste a bit more authentic.

Does anybody really eat that stuff??
