Nostalgic Couple Of Days.
15 Answers
At the moment we are in a hotel at Stratford on Avon. Decided we have earned a couple of days away. Earlier today we called in on an old friend I used to work with who lives in L'Spa. We had a good natter then came on to the hotel. Tomorrow we will do a bit of reminiscing around Warwick where I used to live about 25 years ago, then dinner in a Greek restaurant in Stratford. We will come home on Saturday via the largest market I have ever seen at Wellesbourne near Warwick then a leisurely drive home.
I don't often leave home but I did make an exception for this time.

"It's not like how it used to be before COVID-19, it has hardly any stalls and the ones that are there are pretty much the same the while way round. The aisles are alot wider which is probably the biggest improvement to the market. Stall holders are friendly and helpful".
. . . and another:
"Compared to pre pandemic it was a little disappointing. Not as many stalls, a lot of stalls selling the same items and overall more expensive. Still, it was a nice sunny day out".

We are back home now, had a super couple of days away.
Managed to look at all the houses I lived in. Some had changed others hadn't. Satnav played up a bit but got to places in the end. Most surprising thing was at Kineton
Where the open land opposite our cottage was no longer an exposed vista that was used for the battle of Edgehill. It is now full of mature trees and grass mounds. We had an enjoyable couple of days with nostalgic trips to old haunts. We had a superb meal at a Greek restaurant in Stratford.
Good to be home and all unpacked and sorted.

Chris, that battleground opposite our cottage was haunted. At certain times of the year there were hauntings going on, connected with the battle. Our cottage was haunted. I was slapped very hard on the backside when there was no one else in the house.
Next door claimed they had an old man who sat on their bed sometimes.
Things also went missing sometimes. Most of the walls were stone built. In the lounge we had an enormous ammonite built into the wall.
It was a fabulous cottage to live in. Unfortunately my then husband died while we lived there. He had a brain tumour. I felt I had to move from there as it felt like the forth bridge as it was 300 years old and always something needed fixing.
So I moved to a semi bungalow that needed nothing doing to it.
