Handful of songs - presented by Keith (who spoke like Cliff Richard) and his pretty co-presenter - can't remember her name???
Songbook - just like the above programme
and in the 80's a bbc2 soap on at 6 called Maggie - the theme tune sang by BA Robertson (wheres he now??), it was set in a high rise flat in Glasgow????
Ok - if the person who spoke a little like Cliff Ricard was on a kids programme (if it's the one I'm thinking of) it was Christopher Lillicrap (real)
And I remember BA Robertson (Knocked it off etc) was that programme Dream Stuffing - tho I think it was a girlie that sang that theme and it was on C4, so probably a totally different programme....
Maggie , was written by joan lingard ( spelling? ) , christopher lillecrap presented something set in a fairground , sorry can't remember the title......
Handful of songs ,sorry for being cruel but does anyone remember the cockeyed female presenter?
oh no I can still sing the theme tune!!! - I used to watch it with my sons.....
"I've got a handful of songs to sing you
Can't stop my voice when it longs to bring you
New songs and blue songs and songs to bring you
... happiness, no more no less"
erm.....don't think we'd be able to sing 'blue songs' nowadays would we? :o)
and how come I can remember that but not what I did yesterday?!
Know what you mean Robinia. I can remember the words from 1957 ish when Tommy Steele had a hit with 'A Handful of Songs' , but I can't remember if I was at home last Saturday or out shopping !
