In police programmes I often hear of a suspect being described as i/c One Male. What does i/c mean.

not sure what i/c stands for but it means what colour they are. ic 1 means white.don't know any of the others though sorry.

'c' might stand for caucasion (white)

C doesn't stand for that - you have IC's 3, 4, and maybe 5, and that's for the blacks and asians etc. Maybe the wole thing just means "identity code"

i think it means identity colour and the number that follows is the race.

IC stands for Identity Code.

IC 1 = White Caucausion

IC2 = Dark Mediteranean (European)

IC3 = Black

IC4 = Indian / Pakistan

IC5 = Chinese / Japanese

IC 6 = Arabian/ Egyptian

IC 7 = Alien / Unknown

These codes are often used to describe the appearance of the individual, not the actual fact of the race or nationality.

Just a thought...I can't wait to be watching the Bill or something, have a flying saucer land, and have them say "lots of IC 7 creatures getting out, assistance required"
