Hi .
Can anyone tell me if there is a gadget to make my tap in the garden suitable to attach a hose pipe. The tap does not have a thread on it,so have to attach with a jubilee clip, which is not really ideal as the hose sometimes comes off.:)
,
I thought someone would say that...actually ,that was the original plan but the stopcock is somewhere in the street, the one under the kitchen sink is only for indoors.
The plumber couldn't find it.:)
If it is as sanmac asks you can get male or female hosepipe adapters. Female fits over the outside of a threaded tap and male fits inside a threaded tap.
Jubilee clips can be ok but if the water pressure is high they fly off :(
My street stopcock is just outside my drive on the pavement. When my neighbour 2 doors away had a leak in her bathroom she rang me to ask if I could turn her stopcock off. It was seized tight so I found the external one in her front garden very close to the house.
Other than that, does your plumber need Specsavers? ;)
I must admit that I had to look up "jubilee clip". It turns out to be a British brand name for what we call a hose clamp...Learn something new every day:)
