Travel In London On June 6Th.

I have to travel from Kings Cross to Gatwick Airport on June 6th. I know that there is a strike on the Tube network but does this include the Gatwick Express. I’ve tried looking it up on the internet but I’m still not sure of the answer.

You could get the Thameslink Service Kings Cross St Pancras to London Bridge.

Change at London Bridge for Thameslink service to Gatwick.

National Rail services and London Underground services are totally different. Both Southern and Gatwick Express services will be running normally from Victoria to Gatwick Airport.

However, if you're arriving into London at Kings Cross, it would make far more sense just to walk across the road to St Pancras in order to take a Thameslink service to Gatwick from there. That would save you from having to work out how to get from Kings Cross to Victoria when there's disruption on the Underground.

EdmundD seems to want to go the long way round!

There are DIRECT trains from St Pancras International to Gatwick throughout the day, usually leaving at 00, 05, 15, 20, 30, 35, 45 and 50 minutes past each hour, with journey times between 43 mins and 64 mins.

^^^ Actually, Choux, the Deutsche Bahn rail planner is an excellent tool for finding rail journeys across the whole of Europe, including in the UK. (It needs to be used with some caution though, as it relies on published timetables and doesn't always take into account short-term alterations, such as those caused by engineering work).

It can be used, for example, to plan a journey from Middleborough to Moscow using just one website instead of lots of different national ones. For finding train services in some countries (such as in Italy, where the TrenItalia website is frequently unreliable) it's far easier than using the websites of those specific countries.
