Also, i used to worry my head off about what people thought of me, but now i know i am just as good as anyone - and I value and appreciate others more because i wasn't valued by those i needed (does that make sense). In addition to these things, i also accept that whilst i have my opinion about things, others may not agree but that doesnt make either one wrong, nor do ya have to try to persuade them to see your point.......very important life skills i feel......
How about you Gill....?

I find it very very difficult to trust guys since being cheated on one, and even though no one else has cheated on me, I have to say my reluctance to trust has generally been proven to be justified. Even some of my closest male friends have not stuck by me when i needed them. It's sad but true and just validates my inability to trust men.
Once bitten, Twice shy and all that Gill, I find it hard to trust people. This comes from both a very strange and difficult upbringing followed by a very strange and difficult marriage! - Both of which I've moved on from and found myself in a place where I want to stay.
I still have days when I feel threatened, feel down and feel like it's all going to go belly up!

Just believe in yourself and know that you are strong enough to stand up to the things that are barriers to your happiness or choose to walk away.
I'm 'ard as nails I am! :oP
Actually I'm quite delicate, but only those who know me well get to see that side of me.

They certainly have. A girl at school was the ringleader of a group who led me to believe that I was absolutely without worth or merit. Unfortunately I had the sort of parents who thought that you should accept such treatment in order to have a quiet life. I had zero self-confidence for many years after and believed no-one liked me.
It was only the love of a good man and a spell as a mature undergraduate that convinced me I was as good as anyone else.
