I can see an E may be found in the word lEt but that cant be enough of a clue as theres an E in lots of 3 letter words.

Yes but not in many that also are part of a word that means cove.

Yes but then its at best a lazy clue IMO - I get that there's an E in let (hence inlet) but IMO the clue should clearly point to the word let being in there not just to 'a word with an E in it'
