Hi reading a lot about the mirena coil mostly positive i have had one fitted because i have heavy periods and cant take the pill this was reccommened because it is a different hormone from the pill, i have not tried it out yet because i am still bleeding however a friend told me she could feel the coil and so could her partner every time they had sex any one else had this problem...

I had the mirena coil fitted back in january. You should at least once a month check yourself to see if you can still feel the string. This is just to see if it has moved. The phamplet said that if it can be felt during intercourse then the strings may need to be adjusted by your Doctor. I went to the Doctors only last week to have mine checked as I was worried it had moved, it hadn't think I was just being a bit over cautious.
Your friend may just need her's adjusting.

hi there, i have had this in for about 4yrs and had not a bit of bother! still have my periods (not that much) but a friend of mine has had no periods since she had hers in. i just think its on each indvidule(spelling!0) how ther are. but i would have one agin as its been problem free!

my sis had this 'fitted' about 9 months ago and it fell out, literally, in work....not good. i think its very individual
