Driving Licence Renewal
15 Answers
Just renewed mine online, was suspiciously easy and apparently successful.
They say I’ll receive my new one in two weeks then to cut my old one up and send it to the DVLC.
Has anyone renewed theirs online recently and received the new one in two weeks? And did you cut your old one up and send it back??

It turned out that I had to have a new photo taken. I was dreading long line-ups, but I was in and out in around ten minutes. They didn't ask for my old license.
I was wondering if there was a backlog, seems not then.
Was also wondering how many people actually do cut up and send their old one back, I didn’t know it was illegal not to. It’s not the cost of a stamp I was thinking about, I was imagining some poor soul at DVLC opening all these envelopes with bits of licence in them. I wonder if they recycle them?? ;)
Thanks for your answers.

yes and no
good bits and bad bits
I had three in one year - the old one, a second which only lasted 4 1/2 mo - which I cdnt get my brayne around
and it was something to do with something
BUT they were pretty good about sending the cards
and no I didnt cut up the cards
BUT I DID once get a parking ticket in the name of someone I bought the house off ( 1997 ) who was in prison
so clearly not him
so there must be a market for these things.
